
What’s a sleeve? |

A sleeve is a special bag made for packing the flowers and comes in different shapes, sizes and can also be made from varying material according to customer’s specifications. The size of the sleeve is determined by the clients packing rate. On the sleeve there are normally some holes on the side or at the top called Air holes for the sole purpose of ensuring that the flowers get some air to the heads and leaves for quality flowers. |

What is a wicket and tail? |
|
A wicket is the top tear – off perforation at the top of the sleeve which is mainly included during the sizing of the sleeve whereas the tail is bottom tear – off perforation which is not included during the sizing. ( Mike kindly insert a sleeve layout) |

What materials are used to make a sleeve? |
|
Making of the sleeve is a very interesting process and can be made from all sorts of films and wrappers i.e the most commonly used films are the Biaxially oriented polypropylene film (Bopp) and cast polypropylene films CPP but due to the changing times recyclable films are also being used to make the same. The films are available in different Microns or thickness the most common microns used in the flower industry been 35 to 50 microns again depending on customers preference. |

Are the sleeves available only in plain film or can they be printed? |
|
The sleeves can be printed to any design and with as many colours as the clients prefers depending on the producer/ manufacturer printing capacity, there are also different printing methods |

What printing method does Dilpack offer ? |
|
There are only two printing methods In the world namely Roto gravure and Flexo printing, Dilpack offers Roto Gravure which offers quality printing as it uses the cylinders which press firmly on the press ensuring quality of the final product. Using this method there are also various printing preferences i.e inside or outside print, two sides print or one side print which the customers can choose from. |

What is origination cost ? |
|
These is the cost that is incurred for the making of the cylinders carrying the clients designs on what they want printed on the sleeve it is mainly a one time cost and is paid by the client as the cylinder is normally the clients property, there are other costs for maintaining the cylinder i.e. engraving which is normally met by the company. |
